Five Things That Are Just Fantastic:

my room

001. BLUEBERRIES. Oh my sweet Jesus, I bought a huge crate of them yesterday, and they are soon to be ALMOST ALL GONE. As in, I WANT YOU INSIDE ME, DELICIOUS BLUEBERRIES. So good. The other day Jamie put a Costco bulk pack of them onto a strainer, and they looked so beautiful and scrumptious, and we pile-drived through like, the majority of them before we even realized it. And then we totally went to Ikea and I bought out the store. Greatest day ever.

002. That's right. Ikea. I bought a brand new couch and it continues to knock my socks off into next week. It's so super comfortable, and features absolutely no floral patterns, which already makes it eons better than the couch I used to have.... which is now currently selling for 30 dollars at Value Village. ... I went and checked, because really. I was kind of curious about how much crap goes for.

003. I've changed my whole room around in honour of my new couch (and new art table... and new bookcase...) Jamie assembled all the pieces, while I looked over his shoulder and made lots of sounds like, "Oh... I guess that screws in there." and "What's a dowel?" and "SDFLJSLFLKFLSDKFCOUCH." Then we transplanted my television and bed and whatevers and got rid of a ton of stuff. I even bought a little potted plant of Ivy. I am right this minute putting the almost finishing touches on everything, and I'm going to be taking pictures right after... so ... stay tuned.

004. LAURA AND AMY ARE COMING. Not at the same time, but IT IS VERY SUPER EXCITING. Amy and I are going to take pictures aplenty, and Laura and I are going to explore B.C. like it's never been explored before. I better bust out my mixed tape collection.

005. Watercolour paints. I broke them out last night, and I've been painting away. I made a giant watercoloured tree to fit beside my bed, and I just finished up a little owl and a little fairy to sit in it. I'm seriously thinking about topping it all off with a little crescent moon. I love how watercolours look, the way they react to brushstrokes, and the depth of colours that sort of bleed about on the paper.

ImageHi. My name is Sarah
and I live by the sea. I like pirates and vikings and my audio cassette tape player. I am 25 years old and pretty much covered in sand all the time. Also, I like cookies. My profile.

ImageHey Sarah, what are ye listening to?
Lots and lots o' stuff, like St. Germain's "So Flute" and "Ghosts" by Ladytron. I can't believe Robyn is out with new stuff and it doesn't make me want to show her love by jabbing rusted forks into my eyes. It's actually really catchy and kind of endearing. I have been looking up the songs from So You Think You Can Dance all year, too, because it's all awesome and at heart, I'm still a spandexed little dancer ready to punch Annie in the face and show Daddy Warbucks a thing or two about tap musicals.

ImageI'M READING:
Walking Dead:

Frigging awesome. One of the best books about the Zombocalypse I've ever read (one of the only good books about the Zombpocalypse I've ever read). I think there's something about zombies that is so hard to construe via text ... I mean, honestly, you can only use the word "purtrid" so much, and the visual, awesome aid of comics really helps.

ImageI'M SEEING:
Quarantine, a movie that's kind of the equivalent to being on the Disney spinning teacup ride, except, also, there are RABID ZOMBIES ON BOARD. Honestly, I missed quite a bit of this movie because I spent a good portion of it with my head nestled into my boyfriend's armpit attempting not to vomit. The camera movement is, at times, insanely choppy and all over the place, and those of you prone to motion sickness, you might want to skip this one. I'd give it about 2 1/2 stars out of 5, because it's decent -- I'd even watch it again if I could keep the room from spinning.

ImageBOOK CLUB!:
The Kite Runner. I love this book. It wasn't necessarily a book I'd choose to read (these days I appear to be more interested in books geared towards teenage girls.), but I'm so glad I did. Beautiful writing. Next choice... I'm going to volunteer the Bell Jar because IT'S THE BEST BOOK EVER.
